Largo das Forras (Square)
Largo das Forras is more than the main square of the Brazilian historical town of Tiradentes. To residents it's a place where they can play cards, watch cultural performancessimply chat. To visitors it's a place that shelters many inns, restaurants, handicraft stores and tourist information points. Have you already heard about the rides on colorful carts in Tiradentes? The carts are found at Largo das Forras too. Tip: talk to the cart drivers to know much more about the town.
The Department of Culture and Tourism is also located at Largo in a 18th century large house (in the same house as the Town Hall). The department informs visitors about the main tourist attractions and establishments (restaurants, stores, inn and hotels and so on) in the town. At Largo, you can also visit a nice chapel called Capela de São Jesus da Pobreza, a 18th century chapel.
